Christianity in modernity-vortices Zoran Krstic

The monograph, entitled Christianity in contemporary vortices is intended for all those interested in the themes of Christian sociology and canon law, but we are, after all, primarily, in her writing had in mind students of the Faculty of Theology. In its current pedagogical work we have not once noticed that students are difficult to manage in understanding, evaluating, and especially in the acceptance of the values ​​of modern society such as religious tolerance, freedom of religion, the political and apolitical religion, etc. In that sense, this monograph is aimed to guide them and facilitate the path to understanding the reasons formation of modern society, a time that, indirectly, in the future, improve their catechetical or pastoral ministry. The book consists of two chapters. The first chapter titled From religious tolerance to religious freedom includes the macro-historical analysis of the development of the concept of religious tolerance in the past to the present concept of religious freedom. This development enabled the major social changes - from the politics of the religious phenomenon in antiquity and the Middle Ages until its disappearance in modernity, and who, with other factors, enabled and led to today's understanding of the concept of religious freedom. All these changes are reflected in the different types of the Church (in the sociological sense), as the Church little flock, the Church and the nation kenotièka Church, which are discussed in the final part of the chapter. The second chapter is titled The vortices modernity and consists of three heads and three "vortex". The first is theological in which it analyzes the impotence of contemporary theological reflection within the post-modern religiosity. The second is dedicated to eklisiolo¹koj and missionary issue, and the third and all of generating a more complex bioethical issues. The immediate reason for the emergence of the monograph is the celebration of the Jubilee 1700 years of the Edict of Milan of Emperor Constantine, who gave me the opportunity to further analyze the religious phenomenon of the time, related how the Emperor Constantine and other emperors, to the phenomenon of religion, and to further compare with the modern age.
